The Ask
Training and Curriculum Development – Enterprise Asset Management
The Client hired CGC to develop and implement a training plan and training materials that would support the launch of the EAM system to different operating groups within the Client’s portfolio. This training was a critical part of end user readiness for the change and impacted over 750 staff.
Approach
Collaborative engagement with the client, vendors and consultants to conduct a thorough needs analysis, training plan and engagement plan to support the project deliverables.

Discover and Define
CGC worked with the Change Management Team to define the roles and responsibilities of various project and operations’ team members as it applied to training and knowledge transfer. We defined what was required in the training plan with clear timelines and requirements that needed to be met to deliver the project on time.
Design and Develop
After conducting a thorough needs analysis, CGC designed a structured approach between the vendor, the trainers and for the development of resources aligned with the project timeline. CGC developed week-by-week activities including weekly status meetings and project reporting.
Deliver
CGC delivered a training plan, coaching plan for internal training team, vendor engagement plan, training resources including job aids, posters, communication videos, e-Learning materials and quick reference guides. CGC also delivered ad-hoc project support.
Debrief
Findings were evaluated and lessons learned were shared with the client by asking regular questions and checking in after training was completed. All information was collected, categorized, and reported to the client.
Lessons Learned
This engagement reinforced CGC’s approach to:
- Develop a clear vendor engagement plan to ensure training materials are developed and delivered on time.
- Develop a process to define role clarity and identify where approvals are required and when.
